News2nd Lake During the last few years our bailiff Paul has informed us of our guests interest in the 2nd and smaller lake at E’tang de Campus, with this in mind we have decided to carry out work to this lake in the near future for guest to enjoy. The smaller lake at E’tang de Campus as some of you are aware has a very secluded secret feel about it. Although there is only 1 fish over 30lb in the lake, there is at least 150 carp ranging from 2lb to 15lb along with some nice tench, roach and pike. Obviously this will not appeal to the die hard carpers out there, but could well be a course fisherman’s dream. The lake is approx 1 acre in size and is only fishable along 1 side, and as mentioned before very secluded. We intend to build a 2nd 1 bedroom log cabin, totally separate to the main lake and open the water for 2 anglers per week to fish. This lake is going to be aimed at the course fisherman or a lake for dad’s and lad’s to hone there skills. We also intend to throw 1 or 2 specimens in there to just add a little bit of the un-known. Obviously we cannot carry out major works during the fishing season and therefore any work would start at the end of the 2010 season ready for the 2011 season. Keep an eye out for further news on the little lake over the coming season. Last Season Firstly I would like to thank all of our guests from last season, I hope you enjoyed your stay as much as we enjoyed you being here. We hope to see you at the new and improved E’tang de Campus in 2010. Each year just gets better and better, the average size of fish has improved year on year and like wise the biggest catch has to. After the netting of the lake 18 months ago we have seen catches with better average sizes and not many fish caught under the 18lb mark. The biggest catch this year was 38lb 2oz caught by a Mr Chris Carey of Croydon, Surrey. Chris was over the moon with his catch especially as his PB before this was 18lb 5oz. Chris also caught a 19lb, 20lb 4oz and a 21lb 5oz in a 2 day session at the end of November, needless to say Chris has already booked for next year. We have placed an order for at least 15 more fish over 30lb to compliment our existing stock for the new season. Our aim is to continuously improve the average weight of fish each year until all fish are over 25lb. For those of you out there that are considering a weeks fishing in France then why not try a weeks fishing at E’tang de Campus. We guarantee a beautiful lake, beautiful surroundings, great accommodation and most importantly plenty of carp. In the 5 seasons we have been open we have never had any group of anglers blank, and we are confident that all guests regardless of experience will catch carp, especially when Paul our bailiff gives you his tips. Here’s looking forward to an exciting 2010 season and hope to welcome you to E’tang de Campus real soon. |
